NBA: San Antonio 109, Utah 80

SAN ANTONIO, April 17 (UPI) -- Tony Parker's 24 points sent San Antonio to an easy 109-80 whipping of Utah Wednesday, ensuring the Spurs the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

The outcome set up a first-round playoff meeting between San Antonio and Phoenix. Utah will meet Houston in the opening round.

San Antonio could have dropped as low as the sixth seed on the final night of the regular season, but the Spurs made sure of a much better finish by storming to a 65-39 halftime lead.

Tim Duncan added 14 points and San Antonio shot 59 percent from the floor.

Utah was led by C.J. Miles with 12 points.
