HOUSTON, April 16 (UPI) -- Luis Scola scored 22 points Wednesday and Houston headed into the playoffs on a high note with a 93-75 decision over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Houston closed the regular season by winning six of its last eight contests. With Yao Ming out of action for the latter portion of the campaign, the Rockets still put together the second-longest winning streak in NBA history and posted a 55-27 record.

Bobby Jackson added 15 points and Tracy McGrady had 11 assists.
Corey Maggette scored 22 points for the Clippers, who won only one game in April and lost their final seven games. They finished the season at 23-59.
Houston has won 20 of its last 21 home games.
