The suspension is without pay, the NBA said.

Gray was punched in the groin in the second period of Chicago's 151-135 win over the Bucks Wednesday. He was on the floor for a couple of minutes but no foul was called.

The Chicago center resumed playing after the incident.

Since Milwaukee's game against Minnesota Wednesday was its final contest of the schedule, Ivey will serve the rest of his suspension at the beginning of the 2008-09 season.

Ivey, a third-year player out of Texas, averaged 5.6 points a game this season.

Stu Jackson, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations, announced the suspension.
