SEATTLE, April 15 (UPI) -- Jose Lopez had four RBI and Rafael Betancourt added three Tuesday to power the Seattle Mariners to an 11-6 victory over the Kansas City Royals.

Lopez tied a major league record with three sacrifice flies. Kenji Johjima went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in and two runs scored.

Miguel Batista (1-2) earned the win after allowing four runs on seven hits over five innings.

John Bale (0-3) gave up five runs on seven hits over three-plus innings for the Royals. Mark Grudzielanek went 3-for-5 and Tony Pena Jr. had two RBI.

The Mariners scored in each of the first five innings, with a four-run outburst in the fifth.
