OAKLAND, Calif., April 13 (UPI) -- Stephen Jackson scored 28 points Saturday, helping the Golden State Warriors improve their playoff hopes with a 122-116 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Warriors, who could have been eliminated from the post-season hunt Saturday, instead moved into a share of eighth place with Denver. Both teams have two games to play and Denver holds the tiebreak advantage in the battle for the Western Conference's final playoff berth.
Golden State scored 42 points in the first period and its racehorse style of play led to 91 field goal attempts.
Cuttino Mobley led the Clippers with 32 points.
