NEW YORK, April 13 (UPI) -- Gabe Kapler's RBI double and two-run homer Sunday boosted the Milwaukee Brewers to a 9-7 victory over the New York Mets.
The homer gave Milwaukee a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning and the double in the seventh produced Milwaukee's last run.
Ryan Braun hit a two-run single in the fourth. Kapler joined Rickie Weeks with three hits. One of Weeks' hits was a solo homer in the sixth.
Corey Hart had four hits and one RBI for the Brewers, who trailed 6-2 after three innings but came back to take their second straight victory in the three-game series.
The winning pitcher was Salomon Torres (2-0). Eric Gagne earned his third save.
New York got three hits and three RBI from Brian Schneider. David Wright hit a solo homer.
Carlos Beltran drove in a run and Damion Easley had two runs and two hits for the Mets, who had won three in a row when the series started.
The losing pitcher was Jorge Sosa (1-1).
