MLB: LA Dodgers 11, San Diego 1

LOS ANGELES, April 13 (UPI) -- Derek Lowe turned in a dominating performance Saturday and the Los Angeles Dodgers pounded out 13 hits to crush San Diego 11-1.

After settling for no decisions in his first two starts, Lowe (1-0) gave up just four hits over eight innings. He threw only 92 pitches and struck out six.

Los Angeles snapped a four-game losing streak.

San Diego's only run came in the first inning, but the Dodgers quickly overcame that on Rafael Furcal's homer in the bottom half.

Los Angeles took control with a three-run third, during which Blake Dewitt had a two-run double, and a four-run fourth that featured Andre Ethier's two-run homer.

The loss went to Chris Young (1-1), who allowed seven hits and six runs in three innings.
