HOUSTON, April 13 (UPI) -- Wandy Rodriguez yielded an earned run and five hits in seven innings Sunday in the Houston Astros' 5-1 win over the Florida Marlins.
The left-hander got offensive support from J.R. Towles, who had three RBI -- two with a second inning homer and the other on a bases-loaded walk in the sixth.
Michael Bourn had two hits -- one a solo homer in the third -- and scored twice. Lance Berkman added an RBI double in the seventh for the Astros, who won the final two contests in the three-game series.
Rodriguez (1-0) walked one batter and struck out seven, and 61 of his 93 pitches were strikes.
Florida's lone run scored on Josh Willingham's homer in the top of the fourth. Cody Ross went 3-for-4 for the Marlins, who had won four in a row before losing their last two games.
Losing pitcher Burke Badenhop (0-1) gave up four earned runs and seven hits in five innings.
