Argentina advances in Davis Cup

BUENOS AIRES, April 13 (UPI) -- David Nalbandian won a marathon match against Sweden's Robin Soderling in Buenos Aires Sunday, sending Argentina on to the Davis Cup semifinals.

Nalbandian needed more than four hours to defeat Soderling 6-4, 1-6, 4-6, 6-4, 9-7, putting Argentina ahead 3-1 and clinching its victory in the best-of-five competition.

Juan Monaco added a 6-3, 6-3 win over Thomas Johansson, making the final score 4-1.

Argentina moves on to meet Russia in the semis in September. The Russians ousted the Czech Republic.
