SEATTLE, April 12 (UPI) -- Raul Ibanez hit two solo homers Friday and Brad Wilkerson singled in the go-ahead runs in the sixth, leading Seattle to an 8-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
The Mariners won for the third time in four games, surviving a shaky outing by Felix Hernandez.
Hernandez (1-0) allowed four runs on nine hits in 6 2/3 innings. Mark Lowe earned his first save.
The loss went to Jered Weaver (1-2), who gave up five runs on just four hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Ibanez homered in the first and fourth innings, but the Mariners still faced a 3-2 deficit going into the bottom of the sixth.
Jose Lopez started the key inning with a one-out double and Ibanez, having already homered twice, was intentionally walked. Lopez then moved to third on a fly ball by Adrian Beltre and Jose Vidro drew a walk to load the bases.
Richie Sexson also walked to force in a run and tie the game before Wilkerson singled to center, driving in Ibanez and Vidro.
