Matt Guerrier, Pat Neshek and Joe Nathan completed the shutout, with Nathan earning his fourth save.

Minnesota won its third straight despite the top five hitters in the lineup going just one for 21. The bottom four hitters, however, combined for eight hits, with Jason Kubel going two for four with a homer.

Brett Tomko (1-1) was the hard-luck loser, giving up two runs on six hits in six innings.

Kansas City has lost three in a row and has managed just one run in those three games.
