MLB: Arizona 4, LA Dodgers 3

PHOENIX, April 9 (UPI) -- Eric Byrnes' two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday boosted the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-3 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

His third hit in the contest erased a 3-2 deficit, put Arizona in front for good and followed a walk by winning pitcher Michah Owings.

Mark Reynolds and Justin Upton both drove in a run.

Augie Ojeda also had three hits and Upton had two hits for the Diamondbacks, whose fifth straight win completed a three-game sweep.

Owings (2-0) gave up three earned runs and seven hits in seven innings with Brandon Lyon earning his second save this season.

Los Angeles got one RBI from three players, one a sixth inning homer by James Loney.

Juan Pierre had two of the seven hits for the Dodgers, who have lost four of five.

Losing pitcher Hiroki Kuroda (1-1) yielded four runs -- two earned -- and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings.
