SAN FRANCISCO, April 7 (UPI) -- Khalil Greene had three RBI and Greg Maddux worked seven strong innings Monday to lead the San Diego Padres to an 8-4 win over the San Francisco Giants.
Maddux (1-0) scattered three hits and one run. He struck out five and walked two en route to his 348th career victory. He needed only 93 pitches to record his 15th win with San Diego.

Adrian Gonzalez had four hits, two RBI and four runs for the Padres, who have won three of five games. Jim Edmonds added two hits and two RBI.
Bengie Molina had three RBI for the Giants, who have lost four straight.
Losing pitcher Matt Cain (0-1) gave up five runs on seven hits and five walks over 4 1/3 innings.
