NEW YORK, April 5 (UPI) -- Edwin Jackson yielded one earned run and five hits in six innings Saturday to help the Tampa Bay Rays top the New York Yankees 6-3.
Jhonny Gomes had two hits, including a three-run homer in the fifth, and four RBI. Willy Aybar hit a solo homer in the eighth and Jason Bartlett had two hits for the Rays, who beat the Yankees a second straight time after a 1-2 start.
New York's RBI came on Alex Rodriguez's double in the first and Jorge Posada's two-run single in the eighth.
Losing pitcher Andy Pettitte (0-1) gave up five runs -- three earned -- and eight hits in five innings. The veteran southpaw was making his first start this season after a 15-day stint on the disabled list because of back spasms.
Yankees outfielder Melky Cabrera served the final game of a two-game suspension for his role in a benches-clearing incident in a March 12 exhibition game against the Rays.
