Gavin Floyd (1-0) got the win after allowing three runs on six hits and two walks through six innings.

Dontrelle Willis had a no-hitter going into the sixth inning, but battled control problems the whole way, as Detroit remained the lone winless team in the majors. Willis, making his American League debut, allowed only one hit, but walked seven batters and allowed three runs in five-plus innings.

Zach Miner (0-1) suffered the loss after allowing one unearned run in the sixth inning.

Brandon Inge drove in all three Detroit runs with an RBI double and two-run home run.
