NHL: Edmonton 2, Vancouver 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 4 (UPI) -- Dwayne Roloson made 36 saves Thursday and the Edmonton Oilers eliminated Vancouver from playoff contention by downing the Canucks 2-1.

Vancouver's loss clinched post-season spots for both Calgary and Nashville.

After Calgary wiped out Edmonton's playoff hopes Tuesday, Edmonton did the same thing to the Canucks -- who fell behind by two goals in the first period and could not score on Roloson until 6:57 remained in the game.

Marty Reasoner and Jarret Stoll scored for Edmonton, which concluded its season. The Oilers missed the playoffs for the second straight year.

Vancouver, which seemed in good position to make the playoffs two weeks ago, lost for the sixth time in seven games.
