CHICAGO, April 4 (UPI) -- Miguel Tejada's RBI triple in the top of the eighth Friday lifted the Houston Astros over the Chicago Cubs 4-3.
Tejada smacked a pitch from reliever and losing pitcher Jon Lieber down the third-base line to break a 2-2 tie. He stretched hit into a triple when the ball skidded past left-fielder Alfonso Soriano, and then Ty Wigginton followed with a sacrifice fly.
J.R. Towles hit a two-run homer in the fourth and Tejada had two of the five hits for the Astros, who have won two of three.
Chicago got Geovany Soto's two-run single in the seventh and a solo home run from Mark DeRosa in the ninth. DeRosa, whose eighth inning error led to Houston's rally, and Kosuke Fukudome both had two hits for the Cubs, who have lost three of five.
