Fiji Coach says Rugby match fixed

WELLINGTON, New Zealand, April 4 (UPI) -- A claim of match-fixing surfaced after Fiji's 34-0 loss to New Zealand in a rugby match in Hong Kong.

The Wellington (New Zealand) Dominion Post reported Friday that Fiji Sevens Coach Josateki Savou told the FijiVillage Web site a former senior player sabotaged the team for personal gain.

Savou said his team was too good to be beaten so badly in the match last week.

The Fiji Rugby Union has refused to comment on the sabotage claim.

Savou did not disclose the player's name.
