OTTAWA, April 1 (UPI) -- Carey Price made 32 saves for his third career shutout Tuesday, allowing the Montreal Canadiens to clinch the Northeast Division with a 3-0 win over Ottawa.
This is the first division title for the Canadiens since the 1992-93 season, which was also the last time the team made it to the Stanley Cup finals, which ended in victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
The win gives Montreal 100 points on the season, the same as Pittsburgh has for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, but the Penguins have more wins.
Alex Kovalev had a goal and an assist for Montreal, which has won five of its last six games.
Martin Gerber made 24 saves for the Senators, who have lost five of their last six games.
