Langer wins Ginn Championship by 8 shots

PALM COAST, Fla., March 30 (UPI) -- Bernhard Langer shot a 1-under-par 71 in windy conditions Sunday and coasted to an eight-shot win in the Ginn Championship at Palm Coast, Fla.

The victory was the German star's third on the Champions Tour and his second this season.

Langer battled through winds of up to 20 mph to shoot one of just three of the day's sub-par rounds, finishing at 12-under 204.

Lonnie Nielsen carded a 77 and Tim Simpson a 75 to tie for second at 4-under 212. Joe Ozaki and Fred Funk were at 213 and David Eger Tom Watson and Nick Price at 214.

"It was really tough today," Langer said. "I grew up in some foul weather in Europe and had some victories in cold, windy conditions."

Langer won $375,000.
