DALLAS, March 22 (UPI) -- Los Angeles erupted for three goals in the third period Saturday, surprising the Dallas Stars 4-2.
The Kings trailed 2-1 after two periods when Michael Handzus scored twice and Lubomir Visnovsky once.
All three goals were scored in the final four minutes, with Visnovsky's eighth this season at 17:54 proving to be the game-winner. It snapped a 2-2 tie.
Goaltender Erik Ersberg stopped 25 of 27 shots and the come-from-behind victory gave the Kings 66 points, two shy of last season's total with six games left to play.
They long since have been eliminated from the Western Conference playoff picture.
Stu Barnes and Brenden Morrow both scored once for Dallas. Marty Turco was beaten four times on 30 shots for the Stars, who maintained the fifth spot in the Western Conference with a three-point edge over Calgary and Vancouver.
