The Flames won for just the second time in five games, but still moved within a point of idle Minnesota for the lead in the Northwest Division. Calgary is in fifth place in the Western Conference.
Colorado, which is clinging to the eighth and final playoff position in the West, lost its third in a row. The Avalanche dropped two points behind Calgary and Vancouver.
Both of the Flames' goals came on the power play. Langkow scored on a wrist shot 8:30 into the game and Conroy grabbed a rebound and put it past Jose Theodore with just over five minutes left in the stanza.
Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 15 of 16 shots for the win.
