AMHERST, Mass., March 18 (UPI) -- Dante Milligan had 24 points Tuesday, helping Massachusetts score an 80-60 victory over Stephen F. Austin in the first round of the NIT.

Gary Forbes added 19 points for Massachusetts (22-10), which will meet either Florida State or Akron in the next round.

Josh Alexander had 21 points for Stephen F. Austin (26-6).

The Minutemen have now won an NIT game in back-to-back seasons for the first time.
