HOUSTON, March 16 (UPI) -- Rafer Alston sank eight three-point shots and totaled 31 points for Houston, which beat the Los Angeles Lakers 104-92 Sunday for its 22nd straight victory.
The Rockets' win streak is second-longest in NBA history, topped only by a 33-game run by the Lakers in 1971-72.
Alston added five assists and had a couple of steals and Bobby Jackson contributed 19 points for Houston.
Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles with 24 points.
The Lakers have lost three of their last four games but still lead second-place Phoenix by one game in the Pacific Division.
