NHL: Boston 3, Philadelphia 2 (OT)

BOSTON, March 15 (UPI) -- Aaron Ward's overtime goal Saturday lifted the Boston Bruins to a 3-2 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers.

His fifth goal this season came at 2:17 of overtime, completing a rally from a 2-1 second-period deficit.

Andrew Ference's first goal this season tied the game inside the final minute of regulation. Chuck Kobasew also scored, and both he and Ference had one assist.

Goaltender Tim Thomas made 24 saves on 26 shots for the Bruins, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Philadelphia got goals from Mike Richards (24th) and Daniel Briere (26th) in the second.

Goaltender Martin Biron yielded three goals on 36 shots for the Flyers, who hold the seventh playoff spot in the East, three points ahead of Buffalo.

Boston holds the sixth playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.
