COL BKB: Clemson 78, Duke 74

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 15 (UPI) -- Trevor Booker scored 18 points Saturday to help Clemson upset seventh-ranked Duke 78-74 in the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Cliff Hammonds had 17 points and James Mays 16 for Clemson (24-8), which advanced to play in the ACC Final for the first time since 1962 and will face the top-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday. The Tar Heels defeated Virginia Tech, 68-66, earlier on Saturday.

Greg Paulus scored 17 points, 14 in the first half, for Duke (27-5). DeMarcus Nelson added 14 points and Jon Scheyer 13 in the loss.

Duke held a 31-30 lead at halftime, but Clemson opened the second have with nine straight points to surge into a 39-31.
