COL BKB: Kansas 64, Nebraska 54

KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 14 (UPI) -- Sherron Collins helped ignite a big run to start the second half Friday that carried Kansas to a 64-54 win over Nebraska in the Big 12 Conference quarterfinals.

The fifth-ranked Jayhawks improved to 29-3 and are trying to win the league tournament for the third straight year.

Mario Chalmers and Russell Robinson both had 12 points for Kansas, which scored just 22 points, fell behind by nine and trailed by five at the break.

The Jayhawks, however, opened the second period with a 14-2 run to take control.

Nebraska (19-12) was led by Ade Dagunduro with 13 points.

This is the 13th conference tournament since the Big 12 was formed and in the previous 12, Kansas has reached the semifinals 11 times.
