LOS ANGELES, March 9 (UPI) -- Al Jefferson had 30 points and 12 rebounds Saturday night and the Minnesota Timberwolves got past the Los Angeles Clippers 99-96.

Corey Maggette scored 29 points and Al Thornton had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Clippers, who lost their second straight game and their eighth out of nine.

The Clippers took a five-point lead into the fourth quarter, but Minnesota climbed into an 87-87 tie with 4:37 remaining, thanks to a jumper by Jefferson -- and then went up 93-91 on a jumper by Rashad McCants with just over two minutes to go.

Cuttino Mobley got the Clippers back in front 94-93 with a three-pointer 1:39 remaining. That's when Foye took over, hitting a jumper, a layup and two free throws in the closing seconds to give the Timberwolves their NBA-worst 14th victory of the season.
