Querrey, Anderson in Las Vegas final

LAS VEGAS, March 8 (UPI) -- American wild card Sam Querrey will meet South African qualifier Kevin Anderson in Sunday's final of the Tennis Channel Open in Las Vegas.

Both men won semifinal matches Saturday. In the first match, Anderson defeated American Robby Ginepri 7-6 (7-4), 6-4, and in the second, Querrey beat fourth-seeded Argentine Guillermo Canas, 7-5, 6-2.

The 21-year-old Anderson, a 6-foot-7 former University of Illinois star, won in his first career appearance in an ATP semifinal in one hour, 28 minutes. Ginepri, 25, who failed in his bid for his third career title, last won in 2005 at Indianapolis.

Querrey is trying for his first career title. Saturday was his second semifinal of the year. He reached the semifinals in Delray Beach before losing to eventual champion Kei Nishikori of Japan.
