COL BKB: Notre Dame 68, St. John's 55

SOUTH BEND, Ind., March 5 (UPI) -- Luke Harangody made nine of 12 shots and scored 20 points Wednesday, giving No. 19 Notre Dame a 68-55 victory over St. John's.

The Fighting Irish became the first team in the history of the Big East Conference to go unbeaten at home two straight seasons.

Notre Dame extended its home winning streak to 37 games -- 17 of them coming this year -- with Rob Kurz scoring 15 points and Kyle McAlarney adding 13. The Fighting Irish (23-6, 13-4 Big East) will have a bye in the opening round of next week's conference tournament.

Anthony Mason made four of eight three-point attempts to lead St. John's with 16 points. Mason, however, made just one of eight tries from inside the arc.

The Red Storm (11-18, 5-12) lost for the ninth time in 12 road games this season.
