COL BKB: Indiana 69, Minnesota 55

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., March 5 (UPI) -- Eric Gordon scored 20 points Wednesday in helping 17th-ranked Indiana bounce back from a one-sided loss to defeat Minnesota 69-55.

The Hoosiers, who had endured a difficult month that culminated with the dismissal of their head coach, saw that turmoil catch up with them last Sunday when they suffered their worst loss in four years -- 103-74 to Michigan State.

They came back Wednesday in their final regular-season home game with D.J. White adding 17 points and Armon Bassett scoring 11. Indiana (25-5, 14-3 Big Ten) won for the fifth time in six games.

The Hoosiers, who close out the regular campaign at Penn State Sunday, have clinched a bye past the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.

Minnesota (18-11, 8-9) was led by Lawrence McKenzie with 22 points. This was the Gophers' seventh game against a Top 25 team this season and they have lost them all.

An 18-5 Indiana run midway through the second half put the game away.
