MARQUETTE, Wis., March 1 (UPI) -- Jonathan Wallace hit three free throws to end regulation and scored four points in overtime Saturday to help No. 10 Georgetown beat No. 21 Marquette 70-68.
Wallace and Roy Hibbert each scored 20 points for the Hoyas (24-4, 14-3 Big East), who have won four straight games and taken first place in the Big East. Georgetown has a half-game lead over Louisville, which plays Sunday at home against Villanova.
The Hoyas and Cardinals will meet in the regular-season finale next Saturday.
Marquette was in position to win the game in regulation after Matthews hit a pair of free throws for a 63-60 lead but Wallace was fouled by Dominic James while going up for a three-pointer with 2.8 seconds left.
