COL BKB: Indiana 77, Purdue 68

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Eric Gordon scored 22 points Tuesday and the 14th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers beat Purdue 77-68 to end the 15th-ranked Boilermakers' 11-game win streak.

A report surfaced during the game that Indiana Coach Kelvin Sampson could be suspended this week. Sampson is under investigation by both the NCAA and Indiana for making more than 100 impermissible phone calls to recruits, and allegedly providing false and misleading information to university and NCAA investigators.

Indiana officials are expected to announce the status of the basketball program Friday.

D.J. White had 19 points and 15 rebounds for Indiana (22-4, 11-2 Big Ten), which has won five of its last six games. Armon Bassett added 16 points and eight rebounds.

Robbie Hummel had 17 points, six rebounds and four steals for the Boilermakers (21-6, 12-2), who still are in first place in the Big Ten standings.
