Hoch wins Ace Classic in 4-way playoff

NAPLES, Fla., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Scott Hoch won a four-way playoff Sunday at the Champions Tour's Ace Group Classic golf tournament in Naples, Fla.

He qualified for the playoff with birdies on the final two holes in regulation for the second straight week, and then birdied the first playoff hole to earn $240,000.

Hoch shot a third-round, 4-under-par 68 for an overall total of 14-under 202 to join Brad Bryant (65), Tom Jenkins (70) and Tom Kite (65) in the playoff.

The 60-year-old Jenkins began the day with a two-stroke lead over a group of five others.

It is the first time in his professional career Hoch has won back-to-back tournaments.

His memory of Nick Price's trouble at the 18th during regulation helped.

"(Price) had the putt earlier in my group," Hoch said. "His snapped. I tried to hit it a little harder than that, but my nerves wouldn't let me. I played just enough break."
