TEMPE, Ariz., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- James Harden tied the score with seven seconds left in regulation and scored eight points in overtime Thursday, and Arizona State beat No. 7 Stanford 72-68.
Stanford, seeking its eighth straight victory, had a 12-point lead during the second half and still owned a 57-50 advantage with 1:45 to go in regulation.
But Brook Lopez missed two key free throws down the stretch and Harden scored four points in the final 15 seconds -- including a putback of his own missed shot.
Harden then dominated the overtime, finishing with 23 points.
Rihards Kuksiks added 15 points for the Wildcats (16-7, 6-5 Pac 10). Arizona State won its first four conference games this year before a loss to Stanford touched off a five-game losing streak.
Stanford (20-4, 9-3) was led by 30 points from Lopez.
