Two Montreal Canadiens arrested in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Two NHL players and a former professional basketball player were arrested outside a South Tampa, Fla., nightclub early Monday, said police.

The hockey players, identified as members of the Montreal Canadiens, were arrested police says after Ryan O'Bryne allegedly stole a woman's purse and teammate Thomas Kostopoulos resisted an officer, the Tampa (Fla.) Tribune reported.

The Canadiens are scheduled to play the Tampa Bay Lightning in Tampa on Tuesday night.

Former Philadelphia 76er Alvin Jones, 29, was also arrested in a separate incident and charged with battery, disorderly conduct or obstructing or opposing an officer without violence.

Jones allegedly punched a person at the club and then fell on a 2000 BMW, causing at least $2,000 in damages.
