Hoch captures 2nd Champions Tour title

BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Scott Hoch birdied three of the last four holes, finished with a 4-under-par 68 and won the Allianz Championship by one stroke in Boca Raton, Fla., Sunday.

Hoch's total in his second Champions Tour victory was 14-under 202.

Brad Bryant shot a 66 and Bruce Lietzke a 68 to tie for second at 203.

Jerry Pate, who had led after the second round, slipped to a 73 and finished four strokes behind.

Hoch fired a 32 on the back nine. He birdied the 15th hole after ricocheting a shot off trees, sank a 22-foot birdie putt at No. 17 and birdied 18 to avoid a playoff.

"Anytime you win a tournament, you gotta have some luck," Hoch said

The winner collected $247,500.
