PATTAYA, Thailand, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- No. 2-seeded Casey Dellacqua was among three upset victims Thursday in second-round play at the $170,000 Pattaya Women's Open tennis tournament in Thailand.
Dellacqua, fifth-seeded Angelique Kerber and No. 9-seeded Tzipora Obziler all were ousted Thursday, with only Dellacqua managing to win a set. She was beaten, 7-5, 2-6, 6-2, by Andreja Klepac.
Kerber dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Vesna Manasieva and Akgul Amanmuradova swept by Obziler, 6-4, 6-2.
Top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska advanced to Friday's quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Anne Kremer and will go against local favorite Tamarine Tanasugarn, who escaped with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Olga Poutchkova in her second-round match.
Also Thursday, fourth-seeded Yung-Jan Chan defeated Lilia Osterloh, 6-4, 6-2, No. 7 Jill Craybas got by Renata Voracova, 2-6, 6-1, 6-3, and Ekaterina Bychkova beat Sunitha Rao, 6-4, 6-4.
In addition to the Radwanska-Tanasugarn match, other quarterfinal pairings Friday have Chan playing Amanmuradova, Craybas going against Klepac and Manasieva meeting Bychkova.
