NBA: San Antonio 85, Washington 77

WASHINGTON, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan led the way Wednesday with 23 points and nine rebounds when the San Antonio Spurs beat the Washington Wizards 85-77.

The winners rallied from a 58-53 deficit with 1:18 left in the third to build a 67-60 lead with 9:23 left in the low-scoring contest, and scored enough points to close with a season split in two games against the Wizards.

Fabricio Oberto had 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Bruce Bowen, Manu Ginobli, Robert Horry, and Damon Stoudamire each scored nine points for the Spurs, who totaled 26 assists in their third straight win since a three-game losing streak.

Antawn Jamison led Washington with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Andray Blatche had 16 points and 15 rebounds, and DeShawn Stevenson scored 11 points for the Wizards, whose losing streak rose to five in a row.
