NBA: Detroit 100, Miami 95

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Rasheed Wallace scored 26 points Wednesday and Detroit, on the day Miami traded away Shaquille O'Neal, beat the Heat 100-95.

Miami sent O'Neal to Phoenix in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. The superstar center has not played in two weeks because of an injured hip while the Heat has slumped to the worst record in the NBA at 9-38.

Richard Hamilton added 19 points and Chauncey Billups had 15 for Detroit, winners of six in a row. Miami has dropped five straight and 20 of its last 21.

Dwyane Wade paced Miami with 30 points.

The Heat closed within three points with just under two minutes to play, but Detroit claimed a series of offensive rebounds and finally expanded its advantage to five points on a Tayshaun Prince jumper with 24 seconds remaining.
