NICOSIA, Cyprus, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Cypriot tennis pro Marcos Baghdatis has split with his latest coach, Yiannos Hadjigeorgiou.
The announcement Wednesday ended a partnership that lasted less than a year.
Hadjigeorgiou became Baghdatis' personal coach May 15, 2007, after coaching Cyprus during the 2006 Davis Cup.
A replacement was not named immediately and Baghdatis' next coach will be his third in three years.
The 22-year-old, five-year veteran is No. 17 in the latest world rankings, having won tournaments at Beijing, China and Zagreb, Croatia, last season. He has earned $2,450,000 in prize money.
In 2006, he was the final player to lose to Andre Agassi before the former world No. 1 retired during the U.S. Open.
Recently, Baghdatis lost an epic, five-set match against Lleyton Hewitt at the Australian Open.
