NHL: Nashville 1, Carolina 0

NASHVILLE, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Chris Mason stopped 31 shots Tuesday for his fourth shutout this season, backstopping the Nashville Predators' 1-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

J.P. Dumont scored the only goal of the game with eight minutes left as Nashville won its third in a row. Jason Arnott and Alexander Radulov each were credited with an assist.

The Predators won the first meeting between the teams in more than two years.

Carolina's Cam Ward made 33 saves in the loss.

The game was locked in a scoreless tie through the first two periods when Ward and Mason combined to stop 45 shots.
