NORMAL, Ill., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- The 15th-ranked Drake Bulldogs, led by Leonard Houston's 22 points, narrowly averted being upset by Illinois State Tuesday, escaping with a 73-70 victory.

Josh Young added 18 points for the Bulldogs (21-1, 12-0 MVC), who have now won 20 games in a row. Adam Emmenecker had 14 points and eight assists for Drake.

Dom Johnson had 17 points and eight assists for the Redbirds (16-7, 8-4). Osiris Eldridge had 16 points and six rebounds, and Anthony Slack 10 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
