NHL: New Jersey 4, Pittsburgh 3 (OT)

NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Zach Parise scored 37 seconds into overtime Monday, handing the New Jersey Devils a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Devils scored twice in the third period to tie the game.

In the opening moments of overtime, Parise had the puck at the right point and flicked a soft wrister that deflected off of a Penguin player and went into the net.

Parise and Patrik Elias each had a goal and two assists. Martin Brodeur made 31 saves for the Devils, who have 63 points and are tied for first place in the NHL Atlantic Division along with Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

David Clarkson and Ron Lagenbrunner also scored for New Jersey.

Ryan Malone, Petr Sykora and Jordan Staal each had a goal for the Penguins, who have lost four of their last six games. Ty Conklin had 21 saves.
