Report: Titans to trade Pacman Jones

BRISTOL, Conn., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Representatives of suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Pacman Jones have been told the NFL team will try to trade him, a report said.

ESPN reported Friday that the representatives were informed during a conference call earlier this week that Jones is unlikely to be reinstated immediately, although he was hoping to be reinstated following the Super Bowl, which will be played Sunday.

The report added that the Titans had no comment on Jones' status, and an NFL spokesman said a decision will be made in the off-season.

Jones has been involved in several off the field incidents in his two-year NFL career for which he was suspended for the 2007 season by Commissioner Roger Goodell.

On Thursday, disorderly conduct and public intoxication charges connected to an incident at a Murfreesboro, Tenn., nightclub in August 2006 were dropped and there was a triple shooting incident outside a Las Vegas, Nev. strip club on Feb. 19, 2007 in which Jones, a bystander, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.
