MIAMI, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Manu Ginobili scored the game's final points with 36 seconds remaining Thursday, allowing San Antonio to fight off Miami 90-89.
It was Miami's 15th consecutive loss, two shy of the franchise record for futility. Miami has not won since three days before Christmas.
Ginobili gave the Spurs the lead with a layup, after which Dwyane Wade missed two chances to put Miami back in front.
Wade misfired on an off-balanced layup attempt and the ball bounced out of bounds off a San Antonio defender with 14 seconds left. Wade again headed for the basket despite being surrounded by three Spurs and he dribbled the ball off his knee.
Tim Duncan led San Antonio with 30 points and 11 rebounds and Ginobili added 18.. The Spurs have won three in a row.
