CINCINNATI, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Stanley Burrell helped No. 22 Xavier get off to a quick start Thursday en route to a surprisingly easy 69-43 win over No. 19 Dayton.
Xavier opened the game with a 15-4 run, held Dayton to 30 percent shooting from the floor and captured its eighth win in nine games.
Burrell scored 13 points and B.J. Raymond added 12 for the Musketeers (16-4, 4-1 Atlantic 10).
After winning 13 games in a row, Dayton has lost two straight. The Flyers (14-3, 2-2) were led by Marcus Johnson with 12 points.
Xavier opened a 36-18 halftime lead and the Musketeers built their advantage to as many as 33 points.
