CHICAGO, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Former Chicago Bears defensive end Richard Dent is suing to gain permanent custody of his 2-year-old son from his former girlfriend.
The 1986 Super Bowl XX MVP filed a motion in Chicago Tuesday claiming Pamela Vasser does not provide a safe environment for his son, Richard Jr., the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The court affidavit said Vasser's teenage daughter Taylia Vasser called Dent to say her mother was using drugs and leaving the boy with her to go out on escort "assignments," the newspaper said.
Vasser was arrested on an outstanding warrant for prostitution in December, and pleaded guilty to prostitution charges in 2001.
Dent, 47, was awarded "temporary care and control" of the boy and is seeking full custody, his lawyer Steven Lake said. He also said Dent wasn't aware Vasser allegedly used drugs or about her prostitution charges during the eight months they dated.
