COL BKB: Kansas 83, Iowa St. 59

LAWRENCE, Kan., Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Darnell Jackson scored 21 points Wednesday in carrying No. 2 Kansas to an 83-59 romp over Iowa State.

Kansas improved to 19-0 by winning its 27th consecutive regular-season home game. The Jayhawks are 4-0 in the Big Eight Conference.

Darrell Arthur added 16 points for Kansas, and Russell Robinson and Brandon Rush had 11 each. This is the Jayhawks' best start to a season since beginning the 1996-97 campaign at 22-0.

Iowa State (12-7, 2-2) was led by 21 points from Wesley Johnson.

The Jayhawks led by only 10 at the half, but went on a 12-2 run early in the second period to break open the game.
