NHL: New Jersey 7, Philadelphia 3

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Zach Parise and Patrik Elias each scored two goals Tuesday, powering the New Jersey Devils' 7-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Johnny Oduya had a goal and three assists, as the Devils took over the lead in the NHL Atlantic Division. The teams entered the night tied for second place with 57 points, one behind idle Pittsburgh.

Travis Zajac had three assists for the Devils and Martin Brodeur made 24 saves in the win.

Mike Knuble had a goal and an assist for the Flyers, who had a four-game win streak snapped. Jeff Carter and Daniel Briere also scored for Philadelphia. Antero Niittymaki allowed five goals on 20 shots before being lifted for Martin Biron, who allowed two goals on 16 shots.
